Fade was born in Norwich, England in 1939 and moved to Andalucia, Spain in 1969. He was something of a wild man, who enrolled in the Royal School of Art in Berkshire, leaving a year later without honours and without regret. He was a well known and respected figure in the town of Almuñécar's cultural scene until his death in 2017.
